Since 1985

Over forty years of equipping the people who run toward danger.

Time tested, time trusted. It started with a single saw line, and the mission has never changed.

Our story

One saw line became a standard.

Team Equipment was founded in 1985 by John Geras, who introduced Partner cutoff saws (the K12) to the American fire service. That saw became a standard piece of equipment on rigs across the country.

Four decades later, that same focus drives us: source the most capable life-safety equipment in the world, and put it in the hands of the crews who depend on it. From one saw line to 200+ dealers worldwide, what we do has not changed.

  • Specialists who know the gear, not just the catalog
  • Direct relationships with the top life-safety manufacturers
  • Service and support that outlasts the sale

Since 1985

It started with John Geras.

If you have experience with TEAM Equipment products, then you already know: it's more than a slogan.

For more than 40 years, TEAM Equipment has been committed to providing the fire and rescue industry with high-quality, reliable and well-thought-out tools and equipment. We don't simply sell products. We work to understand how they're used in the real world and put together tools and kits that firefighters and rescue professionals can depend on when it matters most.

TEAM Equipment, Inc. opened its doors in 1985, but our story—and our connection to the fire and rescue industry—started long before that with our founder, John Geras.

1960s

The K12 Saw

John Geras played a crucial role in bringing the Partner Rescue Saw into the U.S. fire service. As major metropolitan fire departments began adopting the Partner Rescue Saw, FDNY called it the K12 Saw—a name that would eventually become synonymous throughout the industry with the handheld rotary rescue saw.

Partner Industries of America

John joined Partner Industries of America, continuing his work in the rescue-tool sales.

1979

The Beginning of Paratech, Inc.

Partner established its own U.S. distribution network, separating from Partner Industries of America. That change prompted Partner Industries of America to become Paratech and expand into manufacturing its own rescue tools. John later became Marketing Director for Paratech.

1980s

The Panama Canal

John Geras and Ron Leman used Paratech air bags on the Panama Canal lock doors to dramatically reduce repair times, helping keep the locks operational.

John attended the Olympics as a Rescue Specialist representing Paratech and its rescue-tool systems.

TEAM Equipment Is Born

After years in the rescue-tool industry—and deciding he'd had enough of the snow and cold-weather nonsense in Illinois—John moved his family to Florida and founded TEAM Equipment, Inc.

TEAM became the Southeast distributor for Paratech products, beginning the next chapter of John's career and the TEAM Equipment story.

Remembering Our Founder

John Geras passed away surrounded by dozens of loved ones, including family members and TEAM employees.

Gone but never forgotten, John's legacy lives on in the company he built, the people he influenced and TEAM Equipment's continued commitment to the fire and rescue industry.

2026

The Third Generation

Samantha Reddy joined TEAM Equipment as TEAM's Georgia Industrial Sales Specialist, marking the beginning of the third generation of the family at TEAM Equipment.

More Than 40 Years—and Still Moving Forward

Today, TEAM Equipment remains a family-owned and operated company with the same basic philosophy John brought to the business in 1985: know the equipment, understand the application and take care of the customer.

The products have evolved. The industry has changed. TEAM has grown.

But our commitment hasn't.

Time Tested. Time Trusted. Since 1985.
